DESCRIPTION

Enjoy a guided walking tour of Old City Jerusalem on this 2-day tour! Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the old city center, walk along the Via Dolorosa and discover Jerusalem’s historic and cultural heritage. This tour is a great City Break from the hustle and bustle of Tel Aviv to the 3000-year-old history of Jerusalem and everything hidden within its walls.

Day 1
Check in to your hotel in Jerusalem and leave your luggage at the reception desk.
Join the Jerusalem Old City Tour starting at the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City at 11:00. This 4-hour tour includes the Western Wall (Kotel), Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the grave of Adam and the Hill of Golgotha. Also, explore the Temple Mount, Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In the evening enjoy a night at the Tower of David Night Spectacular Light Show.

Start the day exploring parts of Jerusalem that you haven’t seen yet!
Choose 1 of the following museums/activities to visit in the morning:
Friends of Zion Museum, The Ramparts Walk, Hebrew Music Museum, HaRav Kook House Museum, Museum of Underground Prisoners, Museum on the Seam – all nearby your Hostel / Hotel
Afterward, head to the Mahane Yehuda Market for a lunch-tasting experience. Use the bite card to taste from 6 of the best vendors in the market. From hummus to rugelach and everything in between.

Departure Time
We suggest taking the 09:01 AM train arriving in Jerusalem Itzhak Navon train station at about 09:55 AM
Exit the train station and switch to the Jerusalem Light Rail, which runs every 6 minutes.
If you prefer you can also take an earlier train, starting from 08:01 AM. Trains leave the Hahagana train station every 30 minutes.

What to Bring
Please remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a hat to protect against the sun and drink plenty of water in the summer months.
When visiting holy sites you will be asked to cover your shoulders and knees.

Visiting the Temple Mount
There is a strict dress code on the Temple Mount; all visitors must either wear full-length pants or a skirt that covers the ankles and have sleeves up to the elbows. The following items are prohibited on the Temple Mount: Religious objects or political items of any kind, weapons, alcohol, iPads/tablets/eReaders, laptops, selfie-sticks, and tripods.

Cancellation Policy
Any cancellation prior to 48 hours of travel date will incur a fee of $10 USD for the refund procedure.
Upon notice 48 hours advance of departure – the trip is non-refundable!

Unfortunately, the guided tour inside the Old City is not wheelchair accessible.


Important Details about the Mahane Yehuda Card:


1. Operating hours: Sun-Thurs 09:00-18:00
2. The vendors on the card all have Jerusalem Rabbanut kosher certificates except for the Georgian Baked goods (Dairy kitchen with no Certificate) and Hummus tasting that has a private Hashgaha Certificate.
3. The tasting details and the locations of some of the shops are subject to change, according to the current situation at the market, and the daily inventory.
4. Some of the tastings may contain gluten, nuts, sesame, different spices, and other food products that should not be eaten by those who are allergic to these products. If you have a doubt that there is a certain food that you are allergic to in one of the tastings, we recommend that you do not purchase the ticket.
5. Please note: Each Shuk Bites ticket is to be used by one person only.
6. The Shuk Bites card is valid for a period of 6 months from the day of purchase.


TRAIN STATION SECURITY CHECKS

Entry to all train stations is subject to a personal baggage check.

Every station entrance is manned by security guards who operate by Israel Police guidelines and are committed to upholding your dignity and safety during the security check.

Please be aware that lines may develop at the security check stations during peak hours in the morning and afternoon/evening (6:00 am-9:00 am and 15:00-19:00), so you must arrive sometime before your train’s departure.
