DESCRIPTION
Riding the Israel Railway on this 3-day trip you will see the best of Israel including Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, and Akko. This touring experience is designed for independent travelers that want to learn from the locals but still want the freedom to explore each city beyond the guided tours. Day 1 and 2 both have guided group highlight tours of Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv. Day 3 is all about exploring Akko with your friends and family, hearing the stories and learning the history through the comprehensive audio guides set up at each location.
Day 1
Begin your Israeli adventure in the city that never sleeps, Tel-Aviv, with the morning to relax and check-in to the Spot Hostel.
After you are settled in, come join the Tel-Aviv Modern Day City Tour starting from the Jaffa Clock Tower at 14:00. This 3-hour introductory tour of Tel-Aviv combines history, culture, and architecture.

Day 2
After breakfast, you’ll enjoy a train ride along highway 1 to Jerusalem by way of the new express train, just 34 minutes!
Meeting your tour guide outside the Jaffa Gate and from there you’ll begin your journey through the 3000-year old history of Jerusalem. Walk along with the stations of the cross, the Via Dolorosa, in the footsteps of Jesus on your way to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Visit the grave of Adam and the Hill of Golgotha (or Calvary). Explore the Temple Mount, Dome of the Rock and the Al-Aqsa Mosque and also the Western Wall (Kotel).
After the guided tour, head to the Mahane Yehuda Market and try some of Israel’s favorite desserts. Included is a tasting card set up to taste the best of the market. There is also an audio guide if you want to hear the stories and secrets of the market.

Day 3
The next train journey takes you alongside the Mediterranean Sea up the coast to the ancient city of Akko. Visit the famous Hospitaller Citadel (Knights’ Halls), the Templar Tunnels and the Turkish Bath. All three of these experiences come accompanied by an audio guide in 10 different languages.

Walk to the Dizengoff/Zidon Bus Stop, just 3 minutes from the Spot Hostel. Take bus 104 or 204 to the Hahagana Train Station.

Take the Express Train from Hahagana Station to Itzhak Navon Station in Jerusalem

Arrive at the Jerusalem Itzhak Navon station after a short 34 minute ride. Exit the station and take the Light Rail towards Heil Ha’avir station

Exit at the City Hall station and walk along the Old City walls for – 450m (5 min walk), to Jaffa Gate

Meet your tour guide – who will be holding a red umbrella, at 11:00 AM. The Jerusalem Old City Tour lasts upto 4 hours

The Mahane Yehuda Market tasting card provides prepaid “sweet” tastings at 4 different locations. Follow the map on the card and taste your way through the market. Please bring headphones to listen to the audio guide from your mobile phone.

The last train leaves from Jerusalem Itzhak Navon Station at 21:30. We recommend leaving arriving 20 minutes early, not to miss the last train!

Walk to the Reading Parking Bus Stop, just 6 minutes from the Spot Hostel. Take bus 56 to the HaShalom Train Station. This is about a 15 minute ride.

Take the train from HaShalom Train Station to Akko Train Station. This ride is about 1.5 hours

Exit the station and walk left to the nearby bus stop #13

The bus departs every 15 minutes and is a short 5-7 minute ride to the Old City of Akko

We suggest the following order (1) Hospitaller Citadel (Knights’ Halls), (2) Turkish Bath, (3) Time at the market, (4) Templar Tunnels, (5) + (6) If time allows visit the Okashi Museum and the Treasures in the Walls Museum

The train leaves Akko station to Tel Aviv approximately every 20 minutes, late into the evening

TRAIN STATION SECURITY CHECKS
Entry to all train stations is subject to a personal baggage check.
Every station entrance is manned by security guards who operate by Israel Police guidelines and are committed to upholding your dignity and safety during the security check.
Please be aware that lines may develop at the security check stations during peak hours in the morning and afternoon/evening (6:00 am-9:00 am and 15:00-19:00), so you must arrive sometime before your train’s departure.
Cancellation Policy
Any cancellation prior to 48 hours of travel date will incur a fee of $10 USD for the refund procedure.
Upon notice 48 hours advance of departure – the trip is non-refundable!
